Frequently asked questions

How CleverlyAI handles your semester, your material, and your information.

What is CleverlyAI?

CleverlyAI is an AI-powered web and mobile program that brings your academics and organization into one system. It organizes courses, syllabi, class schedules, deadlines, tasks, lecture recordings, notes, files, and study materials, then helps turn that context into useful action through our AI Agent, cue cards, practice tests, structured mini lessons, summaries, and study games.

It is designed to help students move from “What do I need to do?” to “What do I need to learn next?” without rebuilding their academic context across several disconnected apps.

Who is CleverlyAI for?

CleverlyAI is primarily built for students aged 13 and over in high school, college, university, graduate study, and standardized-test preparation. It is especially useful for students managing several courses, lots of source material, recurring deadlines, or a study routine that needs more structure.

CleverlyAI also includes a teaching workspace for educators to run classes, organize content, create and mark work, manage people and groups, communicate, and review progress. Parent and guardian connections can support a student.

How do I get started?

Create an account, complete the short setup, and add your semester and courses. You can build them manually, import a schedule, or upload a syllabus and review CleverlyAI’s suggestions before anything is added to your workspace.

Next, test out material generation and our agentic assistance. Generate some flashcards on any topic of your choice, play a game to study them, generate a practice test to test your knowledge. Then ask Lev.E to remind you to study that set in 24 hours, and view the new addition to your calendar.

What happens when I upload my syllabus?

CleverlyAI reads the syllabus and prepares suggestions rather than silently changing your workspace. Depending on what the document contains, it can identify course details, the class meeting pattern, lecture topics and dates, assignments, tests, exams, readings, projects, office hours, textbooks, instructors, grading information, and course policies.

You review the results and choose what to apply. A syllabus can update an existing course or help create a new one, then place the approved dates and material into the correct course and semester. Because document extraction uses AI, always compare the suggestions with the original syllabus before accepting important dates or rules.

How does CleverlyAI manage my semester?

CleverlyAI organizes information as semesters, courses, lectures, materials, notes, events, tasks, subtasks, and generated study resources. The home workspace brings together today’s classes, upcoming work, open tasks, recent material, and review activity, while the calendar and study queue help you decide what needs attention next.

It supports normal weekly schedules and rotating school-day cycles that can skip weekends, holidays, and other days off. You can also connect Google Calendar or subscribe to an iCal feed from systems such as Canvas, Brightspace, Moodle, or Blackboard, then view outside events beside your CleverlyAI schedule. Lev.E can read this workspace context and help create or update courses, notes, tasks, and calendar events.

Can I import my Brightspace calendar into CleverlyAI?

Yes. Copy the iCal subscription link from Brightspace and paste it into CleverlyAI. Classes, deadlines, and other events published to the feed will appear beside your CleverlyAI schedule and refresh automatically. This connection is read-only, so you continue editing the source events in Brightspace.

Can I connect my Google Calendar to CleverlyAI?

Yes. CleverlyAI supports a direct Google Calendar connection with two-way synchronization. You can show selected Google calendars inside CleverlyAI and send selected CleverlyAI deadlines, exams, classes, study sessions, and other items to your primary Google Calendar. Events pulled from Google remain managed in Google Calendar.

Can I import my Canvas calendar into CleverlyAI?

Yes. Copy the Calendar Feed or iCal link from Canvas and paste it into CleverlyAI. Events and deadlines published by Canvas will appear in your CleverlyAI calendar and stay updated automatically. The subscription is read-only, so changes should be made in Canvas.

Can I import my Moodle calendar into CleverlyAI?

Yes. Export or copy the calendar subscription URL from Moodle and add it to CleverlyAI. CleverlyAI will display the events from that iCal feed beside your courses and other calendar items, then refresh the feed periodically.

Can I import my Blackboard calendar into CleverlyAI?

Yes. Add the iCal or ICS subscription link published by Blackboard. CleverlyAI will bring the feed’s events and deadlines into your calendar as a read-only subscription and keep checking the source for updates.

Can I add my Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar to CleverlyAI?

Yes, if the calendar provides an iCal or ICS subscription URL. Paste that published calendar link into CleverlyAI to display its events as a read-only calendar that refreshes periodically. Direct Microsoft account sign-in and two-way Outlook synchronization are not currently supported.

Can I add my Apple or iCloud Calendar to CleverlyAI?

Yes, if you publish or share the calendar as a webcal or iCal subscription link. Paste that link into CleverlyAI and its events will appear as a read-only calendar. Direct iCloud sign-in and two-way Apple Calendar synchronization are not currently supported.

Can I connect another school or personal calendar to CleverlyAI?

Yes. If the school, team, service, or calendar app provides an HTTPS or webcal iCalendar subscription link, CleverlyAI can usually subscribe to it. Its events will appear alongside your CleverlyAI schedule and refresh periodically.

Does CleverlyAI support iCal, ICS, and webcal calendar links?

Yes. CleverlyAI accepts live iCalendar subscription links that begin with https:// or webcal://. It subscribes to the URL and keeps the calendar updated instead of performing a one-time upload of a static .ics file. Treat private subscription links as confidential because the link itself may grant access to the calendar.

Can it track deadlines and assignments?

Yes. You can add assignments, tests, exams, quizzes, readings, projects, presentations, study sessions, and other events manually, or review suggested dates extracted from a syllabus.

Optional Google Calendar synchronization and iCal subscriptions can bring more of your schedule into one view.

Can it create flashcards, practice tests, and study guides?

Yes. CleverlyAI can use selected course files, notes, lecture notes, textbook chapters, or generated lessons to create cue-card decks, practice tests with feedback, editable study notes and summaries, multi-lesson mini lessons, and game-ready study sets. You choose the sources, so the generated material stays tied to the class content you are actually studying.

You can also write cards manually or import an existing Quizlet export without using AI. Decks can be reviewed through focused recall, mastery practice, practice tests, solo study modes, or hosted games. As with all AI-generated material, review the output against the source before relying on it for an assessment.

Can CleverlyAI record lectures?

Yes. CleverlyAI supports recording a lecture in the product or uploading an existing audio recording. The recording is attached to the correct course and processed in the background so a long lecture does not have to finish inside one browser request. When automatic transcription is available, the audio is processed in manageable chunks and assembled into a time-aligned transcript. Notes are then generated from the transcript, which you can turn into flashcards, practice tests, or study games.

Students must have permission to record. Transcription availability can also depend on the current service configuration, and an upload may remain available for later processing if automatic transcription is temporarily unavailable.

What does it create from a lecture?

A processed lecture can include the original recording, a timestamped transcript, searchable or correctable transcript segments, bookmarks, personal notes, a clear summary, and key takeaways. The lecture then becomes a source for new cue cards, notes, practice tests, multi-lesson mini lessons, and game sets.

Personal notes remain separate from AI-generated output and are not overwritten. That lets students keep their own observations while using the same lecture to create additional study material.

Do I need permission to record?

Possibly, and it is your responsibility to check. Rules depend on your location, institution, course, instructor, and the people being recorded. Some classes prohibit recording, some require explicit consent, and some allow it only as an approved accommodation. Ask before recording whenever the applicable rule is not clear.

How is CleverlyAI different from ChatGPT?

ChatGPT is a broad conversational AI assistant. CleverlyAI is a purpose-built academic system with persistent structure and actions around a student’s real semester. Courses, deadlines, files, lectures, notes, tasks, calendars, study tools, progress, and shared learning experiences live in the product instead of existing only as context inside one conversation.

Lev.E is part of that system. It can use the student’s workspace context, answer questions about classes and schedules, create or edit academic items, and launch study-material generation. The advantage is not simply a different chat response; it is that the answer can connect directly to the student’s organized workflow.

How is it different from Claude, Gemini, NotebookLM, or Quizlet?

CleverlyAI does not need to claim that another product cannot perform a particular feature. These tools can overlap, and their capabilities change. CleverlyAI’s difference is the end-to-end academic workflow it is designed around: syllabus to course, course to calendar, lecture to transcript and notes, source material to study tools, and study tools to practice, games, and progress.

The workspace is the product, and AI is built into it. A student can organize the semester, act on deadlines, study from course-specific sources, ask Lev.E for help, and reuse the same material across several learning formats without rebuilding the class context each time.

Can CleverlyAI make mistakes?

Yes. CleverlyAI can misread a document, misunderstand context, omit a detail, produce an incorrect answer, or sound confident when it is wrong. Verify anything that could affect a grade, deadline, submission, calculation, quotation, citation, safety decision, or important personal choice against the original source or a qualified person.

Is using CleverlyAI cheating?

Not automatically. Using CleverlyAI to organize coursework, review notes, understand a concept, make practice material, or plan study time may be allowed, but the rules for a specific assignment, class, institution, or exam always come first. Submitting prohibited AI-generated work as your own, plagiarizing, or using the product to misrepresent your work is not allowed.

How does CleverlyAI approach academic integrity?

CleverlyAI is designed as a supplementary learning and organization tool, not a replacement for professors or independent work. Its product messaging and terms require students to follow course and institution rules, verify AI output, and remain responsible for what they submit and how they use the product.

The most appropriate uses are the ones that strengthen the learning process: organizing materials, understanding concepts, practicing recall, generating questions for self-testing, reviewing mistakes, and planning the work. When an instructor restricts AI use, that restriction takes priority.

Is my information private?

CleverlyAI protects account information and saved content using authenticated access, ownership checks, and access-controlled cloud storage. Authorized CleverlyAI personnel and service providers may access or process information only as necessary to operate, secure, support, and improve the Service, comply with legal obligations, or fulfill an applicable school or institutional agreement.

If an account is provided or managed by a school, that institution may receive or control specified academic records as described at signup, in the Privacy Policy, and in the applicable agreement. Personal accounts are not shared with a school merely because a user lists or attends that school. CleverlyAI does not sell personal information or use it for behavioural advertising.

What happens to uploaded files and recordings?

Uploaded files and lecture recordings are stored in private Google Cloud Storage under the user’s account, while related records such as course links, transcript segments, notes, and generated resources are stored in CleverlyAI’s database. Downloads use short-lived signed access after an ownership check rather than making the original file public.

When a feature needs it, relevant content may be processed by Google Cloud Vision for text extraction, OpenAI for AI and source-based features, or Cloudflare for speech-to-text. Lecture recordings are retained so the lecture workspace can play and process them; short voice clips sent to Lev.E are transcribed and discarded rather than saved as lecture audio. Deleting underlying material removes it from CleverlyAI’s AI index, and account deletion removes the user’s saved records, uploaded files, and login.

Is my data used to train AI models?

No. CleverlyAI’s current Privacy Policy states that its AI providers are not permitted to use user content to train AI models and that CleverlyAI does not use user content to train models of its own. CleverlyAI may use aggregated or de-identified information to improve performance, reliability, and safety, but that is different from using a student’s content to train an AI model.

Can I delete my account and data?

Yes. Account deletion is available from Settings under the Account section. After a confirmation and a typed safeguard, CleverlyAI permanently removes the account’s decks, uploads, classes, lectures, notes, calendar data, tasks, progress, social and class records, stored files, and login. The action cannot be undone and does not create an export first.

You can also request access to or deletion of personal information by emailing support@cleverlyai.com. Parents or guardians may contact the same address about a child’s information, subject to verification and any school-controlled account process.

How much does CleverlyAI cost?

Nothing. CleverlyAI is currently completely free to all users.

In the future, CleverlyAI will charge for premium features through subscriptions. Students under 18 cannot purchase a subscription themselves; a parent or legal guardian can purchase for them, or a school can provide access under its own agreement. The pricing page and checkout are the source of truth if plan details change.

How do I contact support or give feedback?

For help with an account, billing, privacy, or a product issue, email support@cleverlyai.com. Signed-in users can also use the Feedback button in CleverlyAI to report something broken, suggest an idea, share something they like, or send another comment without leaving the workspace.
